I work for a large supermarket chain traveling to a different part of the UK every week. I have given myself a target of shooting and posting at least 1 photo each week. Bristol, The Haymarket - This is the view out of the closed hotel window, 12 floors up. Taken with the Fuji F30. The morning I checked in, the lifts had gone on strike. The night porter carrying my suitcase checked the lifts on every floor. We got to the 7th before the lifts decided to work again.

I belong to a photography forum and on Sunday a few of us met up at Golden Acre Park, Leeds. The sun was high and bright which caused no end of problems with exposure. I think I was lucky to capture this reflective study. I like it but something is not quite 'right', I can't put my finger on it though. Is it the composition? I'd appreciate any thoughts. Many thanks.

As promised another taken at Chester Zoo. This 'little' chap spent ages under the shower and in the pool. No doubt he's on many other photographers memory cards.

I'd recently fallen out with my Fuji S9500, I've been getting better pics with my little compact point and shoot. Today on a visit to Chester Zoo I decided to give it another chance. I'm so glad I did because I got (in my eyes) some really good snaps. I hope to upload a few more in the next few days.

There is one thing you can rely on seeing on the canal.........ducks. Took a trip to Standedge Tunnel at Marsden today. The tunnel at 3mls is the longest underground canal in England. After a few false starts and after 17yrs it was finally completed in 1811. The coming of the railways heralded its demise. By 1938 little or no traffic was useing it and in 1948 it was closed and left to go to ruin. In 1973 a group of enthusiasts got together lobbying the goverment and EU for cash to open it up again. It took 10yrs but finally it is now open to barges and is a popular route for boat and barge tourists.

A very unusual gargoyle I found on an inner wall of Rufford Hall. The Hall dates back to the 1400's so this must have been added much later. I didn't have a lot of time so wasn't able to find anything out about it. Anyone have any ideas?

This is Sunny one of my horses. As you can see in the pic to the left I find it hard to get a photo without a lot of unwanted distractions in the bg. I've been experimenting with the cloning tools in PS and came up with the snap on the right. Can you find all the objects I've cloned out? Clue there are 9 to find.

I often travel the M62 and the 'brown' signs for Tropical World in Leeds made me think "One day I'll visit". A couple of weeks ago I finally got to go. It's well worth a visit only £3 adult entry. The above fish, (sorry forgot it's name) seemed to be sleeping. It didn't move all the time I was there. I had to wait quite a while to get this snap 'cos I didn't want any people reflections in the glass.! I have a few other pics of my day out that still need sorting through. I'll maybe post more later. Dai
